It’s been said that Summer semesters in UB are the most intense because the entire module is squeezed into 6 weeks.
I felt that taking 2 modules for 6 weeks is still going to be manageable, but after the first 2 days of school, I looked through the syllabus and realized that it’s not worth taking this risk because sociology modules require tons of readings and writings after all.
Hence, I dropped a module (Sociology of Law) and kept to taking 1 module (Sociology of Diversity) for this semester.
Both modules have similar workloads (Think 3 response papers and 3-5 pages each), but I chose Diversity over Law, simply because I get to take this module with some of the people I love most.
It’s Thursday night and I’m just done with my readings for tomorrow’s lesson,
The first response paper is due on Tuesday, and I am gonna take the first exam for this module next Friday.
Imagine if I had stuck to 2 modules, I would have twice the workload,
So I do agree that Summer semester is rather intense, but I am glad I still have some breathing space.
And as each day of Summer passes me by,
My countdown begins.
