I have been using my iPhone 3GS for more than 2 years.
I don’t really care that people are saying the iPhone 5 is way below expectations, because to me, any phone is better than my iPhone 3GS that is memory-clogged and lags like crazy.
I almost wanted to give up and just get the iPhone 4S, but a friend who works for Apple hinted to me that all Apple staff’s leaves are blocked in the month of September. True enough, the iPhone 5 was announced shortly after, in the second week of the month.
I stayed up to watch the keynote presentation of the iPhone 5 and decided that I am gonna get it no matter how, even though my dad has a brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 that he doesn’t need. Singapore was one of the first few countries to have the iPhone sold here, and I went to queue on the 4th day of sales.
The M1 shop only opens at 11am, but I was there queuing at 9.30am and there was already a queue of about 50 people formed.
I told myself that this is probably gonna be the silliest thing that I will be doing this year.
The shop opened at 11am and I was out of it with my new iPhone 5 at 12.30pm.
Been using it for the past 4 days and I am loving the M1 LTE’s blazing fast browsing speed that puts my house’s wifi to shame.
And the best thing was, my current mobile plan allows me to get the iPhone 5 at only $190. Being an M1 subscriber for the past decade, I was also given a $50 voucher that I was entitled to use. I paid for my iPhone 5 in cash, because you can just dig into any wallet and pull $140 out.
A few of my colleagues wanted to get their hands on an iPhone 5 so they played around with mine, and they all remarked how significantly lighter it was.
Which is true, so I went down to Mobyshop to get a wafer-thin casing for my new iPhone and an oleophobic screen protector. Brandon there does the greatest job of setting up my iPhone with all the protection it needs.
I love my iPhone 5!
