It’s normal to have favorites, right? Otherwise, where did the term “Teacher’s pet” originate from?
I teach 4 classes and while I have one class that is absolutely my favorite, I have another class that I never fail to curse under my breath throughout every lesson.
In every class, I also have favorite students. I am not biased towards them in terms of marking them less strict than others, or by giving them better grades, but I do give them slightly more attention during my classes.
Having said all these, one of the kicks I get from teaching is when the boys at the back of the class are still talking even after I have repeatedly told the whole class to be quiet. I love how the girls in front instinctively cover their ears in expectation of what I’m about to do next – Usually shout at the boys in my most commanding voice, or repeatedly slam a wooden cane on the table (it creates a thunderous clasp).
Hey, teachers are humans after all and humans get angry from time to time.
