We decided to spend a special day in Veranda Chiang Mai. It is actually a huge resort outside of the city of Chiang Mai. A taxi from Chiang Mai to Veranda would easily cost you 800-900 baht, but the hotel offers a one-way pick-up service at 1200 baht.
It was no issue for us because we drove there on our own. The exact location of the resort was a little off from what it was highlighted on Google Maps, but nonetheless we managed to find our way there after getting some help from the signs and directions.
I did a little price comparison before booking and realized that it was slightly cheaper if you did your reservations on the Veranda website itself. My booking cost about $275 inclusive of breakfast. Lunch and dinner are charged separately.
The room itself was huge, consisted of a bath tub, attached bathroom, and a section with a make-up table and wardrobe. There was a big couch next to the tv which had plenty of channels for selection, and you have a king-sized bed, and also a wide balcony that overlooks a lot of greenery.
We were slightly late for our check-in so we didn’t make it for lunch at the resort’s restaurant, but room service served us within 20 minutes of ordering and we consumed it up on our balcony. We had a bee that flew into our room because I left the balcony doors wide open, but it made its way out after realizing that it doesn’t belong with us.
The resort itself is huge and even from the front desk reception to the room is quite a walk, however the resort provides buggy service with several drivers available at any requested time.
I have no idea how she pulled this off, especially since she was with me most of the time, but after we consumed our dinner and headed back to our room, this was what greeted me.
