I was having dinner with a friend and having casual conversations when he suddenly asked me, “If somebody you treasure were to leave you, what would you do?” My reply shocked him because I said, “I will just let them go.”
The reasoning behind this is simple.
I think that if someone wants to walk out of your life, I trust that he/she must have thought about it for a long time before making this big step to leave.
They must have thought about it for a considerably long period of time,
and weighed that the push factors are far greater than the pull factors,
and that there is nothing else in this relationship to look forward to,
and there is no more future and potential,
and there is no other way around this,
and hence decided to leave.
And that’s why I will let them go should they decide to leave.
Because if someone has already decided to leave,
Nothing you do can make them stay.
