An essential aspect of my Final Year Project would be the Project Viva. In other words, it’s known as the presentation.
Since my Viva is tomorrow, here are some key points to conducting an effective presentation.
- Dress up.
Dressing up brings out the formality and seriousness of the project. Carry yourself like a professional. Have confidence!
- Crack jokes.
And I don’t mean those long-winded mother goose stories. Just insert some hilarious one-liners while presenting. Use some props if necessary. It attracts the attention of your audience and it gets rid of the tension in the room.
Practice makes perfect.
Yeah, I’m not kidding. Pray, and fast! It’s a Tuesday anyway.
- It’s the thought that counts.
I’ve done this once for my OOAD2 presentation last year. Get a small packet drink for your supervisors and markers. Professional conferences serve light refreshments, and the least you can do for your project presentation is to get a beverage that your audience can enjoy throughout the hour spent inside the air-conditioned room.
