About 3 days ago, I developed a sprain in my left wrist as a result of not doing my workouts properly. I thought it was nothing serious until today, the pain spread to my arms and it’s beginning to torture me. Probably gonna see a doctor tomorrow to get it checked, in case some nerve or muscle tissue gets ripped apart and I’m handicapped for life.
Anyway, to the more important point. Ngee Ann organized this education fair called EDvance, which is actually just some talks and seminars regarding further studies.
So my curious classmates decided to take a look at the education fair and enquired about the admissions to the various universities. I just went along with them because it’s a good excuse to skip classes.
To be frank, the whole seminar made me have second thoughts about dis-continuing my studies. I saw what the various universities (even SIM) had to offer and I was actually quite attracted to the courses available.
I was quite distracted throughout the entire day, because this afternoon, airforce actually called me regarding my application and if I were to continue studying then it wouldn’t be worth it to sign on anymore. (I know people will argue about the scholarships and stuff like that, but that’s another issue.)
And besides, I noticed that there was a certain group of people at the seminar. These people are a threat to our country because they are the ones who come to Singapore to steal our university vacancies and steal our jobs and they don’t serve NS (note: no reservist too!) and they don’t contribute to our society at all. And what’s worst is that the government welcomes them and they were the potential candidates for university scholarships.
So I figured that there are better prospects out there for me.
And then I remembered something which a very wise man told me and I kept in my heart for a very long time.
“Don’t be like a bloody thermometer – your whole body all degrees and degrees, but inside got no brain.”
Yup, and I guess I’m sticking to that principle. I know I won’t regret it.
