I am sure everybody has some form of regrets.
Regrets of making wrong decisions, regrets of doing the wrong thing, regrets of doing the right thing at the wrong time, regrets of mixing around with the wrong people, regrets of developing wrong habits etc.
Notice how regrets have to do with committing something wrong. Something that makes you remorseful, feeling sorry and pity for yourself. This something, is also called a ‘mistake.’
I feel that this is only a perception problem.
People regret doing something only after they have done it, then they realised that they made a mistake and they shouldn’t have done it.
But my stand is that you only know that it is a mistake only after you have done it. If you didn’t do it nor even bother to try, you won’t know whether that something is a mistake or not.
Take for an example, a business plan. You wouldn’t know whether this business plan would be a mistake unless you carry it out, lose a large sum of money and then you realised that it is a mistake because you are not making any money. Then you regret starting that business and think that you should have done something else instead. If you never try, you will never know!
If you ever feel like doing something, just go ahead and do it. Mistakes are supposed to be lessons for you to learn from. Not something that makes you dwell in regret.
Life is not a fairytale. If you don’t want to commit any mistakes, then don’t do anything.
If you want to do great things, be prepared that you will definitely make some big mistakes along the way.
You can only gain experience by committing lots of mistakes.
The thing is not to dwell in regret, but to learn from your mistakes and move on.
The biggest mistake you will ever make is to think that you will not make any mistakes.
I know this is so random but I just feel like blogging this down.
I am not pinpointing at anybody.
