I went up to the church cafe after service today and walked past quite a number of leaders. They all asked the same few questions.
“How’s things between you and that girl?” (To which I replied, “Huh, what girl?”)
“Got target now?”
Not like I haven’t thought about it, but I am just having too much fun being single.
Sure there are girls that I do take notice of and they are fun to talk to, but there’s a difference between dates and mates.
Not every date can be a good mate.
Or to put it simply, a good girlfriend might not be a good wife.
Media and society shapes our mindset into thinking that falling in love is what dating is all about, but I doubt so.
Dating is a maturing process. It helps to develop relational and interactive skills. Teaches you how to dress and carry yourself well.
Whereas a mate is a different ball game altogether. A mate comes with plenty of commitment and emotional issues. You can have plenty of dates, but you can only end up with 1 mate.
Give me a date anytime, but a mate?
Not now, not anytime soon.. Unless your name is Keira Knightey.
