Just a while ago, I was on my way, heading back to camp.
I alighted from the bus at Clementi Ave 6 and was walking along the pavement with all the cars zooming down the straight road.
Suddenly, I heard 2 cats fighting under the drain. One of them jumped out and made a mad dash across the road. The other one gave chase.
None of the cars slowed down and my heart skipped a beat. I’ve seen dead cats with their heads already flattened on the expressway but I’ve never witnessed the process.
Thank God I was spared the agony of watching the 2 stupid cats die. Both of them made it to the other side.
I think sometimes we are like that. We get too caught up in our short-term targets, not focusing on what the bigger picture is. We may get lucky and make it through, but if we’re not careful or if we’re too reckless, it may cost us our lives.
